Singer/songwriter Beth Pederson has returned to performing as a solo artist.
Many may remember "WiId Roses"- Beth and Cinde, the well-known musical pair that delighted audiences throughout the northwest, west coast, and Canada. Cinde Borup passed away in 1998 leaving a large void in the hearts of many. Her music, however, still reaches people all over the world through the music that she and Beth created.
Three CD's, "Wild Roses," "Voices on the Wind," and "Northern Lights" are still available through High Moon Music (208-263-4851).
Beth helped produce the "Tribute to a Wild Rose" Memorial Concert following Cinde's death in 1998 and in 1999 gathered a few friends together as the DIVAS OF FOLK. The Divas (Belinda Bowler, Chris Webster, Nina Gerber, Rosalie Sorrels, and Beth) opened for Judy Collins that year at the Festival at Sandpoint to rave reviews.
In February of 2000, the Divas returned to Sandpoint and the Panida Theater for the second 'sold-out' Tribute Concert. A piano and funds for a music program were awarded to the Pend Oreille High School in Cinde's memory.
Now, after a brief hiatus, Beth has picked up her guitar again to share her heart-felt music. The spring and summer of 2002 brought a series of dinner/concerts to DiLuna's Cafe in Sandpoint. "Beth Pederson & Friends" turned out to be a smashing success with performers Doug Bond, Caitlin McSherry, Bruce Innes, Belinda Bowler, Rex James, Charley Packard, Tom Newbill, and Denise Bartlett joining Beth.
On March 14, 2003 Beth produced the third "Tribute" concert with New England based singer/songwriter Cheryl Wheeler. Beth opened the concert at the Panida. Once again, all the proceeds were devoted to music education in the Sandpoint area.
Now Beth is finishing up her first solo effort, "Everything Must Change," with plans for another Diva's night and CD release concert. Be sure to keep checking back for more information.
